Adsense Fraud Don’t Get Caught

Many website owners are having their Google Adsense account terminated even when they themselves have done nothing wrong to deserve punishment.

Click fraud is the act of clicking on ads for the purpose of obtaining money. It is simply the same as paying out cash for false leads.

You may want to consider disabling ads for your own IP address and local geographic area. This will certainly prevent accidents and will not make Google mistake another user as you. You can do through a htaccess file. This will stop Google thinking you are clicking on your own ads and ban you because of it.

It can also help if you have site monitoring software. If you do not have one yet, you should try and get one. There is absolutely no reason preventing you from having one, as the majority of this software is free.

If you find your Google Adsense account terminated, all the information you have gathered could be turned over to Google. This will show Google that you too are helping the fight against click fraud and that you are in no way a part of it.

Do not tell your family or friends about Adsense on your website. Chances are they may start clicking on them to help you make money without you knowing it. They may be doing more harm to you than help by trying it in the first place.

Let me tell you on the 31-12-2005 my Adsense account was terminated. I received an Email from Google stating that due to fraudulent clicking I was suspended for LIFE from Adsense. Let me tell you that the reply they received from me was anything but Professional.

You see what happened was just before Christmas, I told my Family about my online Exploits and how I was making a small amount of money with Google Adsense-Ads on my website. Of course further explanation was needed, as most knew nothing about Adsense, Google or online marketing in general. That turned out to be my downfall.

You see My Mother in law, who consequently has only been online for 6 weeks and hasn’t got out of the Yahoo chat rooms yet. Thought she would help by clicking on the Ads on my site. Way to go Mum! WRONG!
It only served to anger Google and Get me banned for Life

If someone you know visits your website, make sure they understand that they cannot click on your ads under any circumstances. It would be wise to brief them on the important rules governing Adsense and what not to do.

Many of the pay per click networks have different measures in place to protect Advertisers and themselves from click fraud. Most of these networks can track 50+ data points including, IP address, browser’s information, user’s session info and pattern recognition.

There are several “systems” in use that detect fraud. Not to mention the specialized teams of real people that constantly monitor things there sole job is to stop click fraud.

Google offers suggestions on avoiding click fraud, Adding tracking URLs to your links so you can track the traffic coming from Google.

And finally don’t display your Adsense Ads on pop ups and pop unders. Your ads should not be displayed on sites that promote illegal or discriminatory content. Including content that is for adults only ie. Porn or if your content is orientated towards gambling. If you think that you may be breaking this rule, immediately remove your content or Adsense-Ads from that web page.
